Mistakes
My opinions here are all based from having Solar in California desert homes: Surrounding cities like Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, La Quinta, Cathedral City, Desert Hot Springs, Thousand Palms, Twenty nine Palms, etc.. Having the most exposure of sunlight. But also carry the highest KWH rates from utility companies like Edison due to extreme weather condition that can reach up 118 degrees for 2 months and 105 in 3 months. Opinions expressed here are not designed for other states and cities.
Let’s get to it…
Solar is a must in our area for savings helping the grid. This is why California recently mandated Senate Bill 100 or California Renewable Energy Act. The state is trying to encourage homeowners to produce power from renewable source instead of getting it from the utility grid, aka Edison with an increase rate of 6-7% per year, or 37% in 5 years.
